Giacobe & Associates has connected several organizations and businesses to the Internet using Cable Modems and DSL.   

Our package includes a secure firewall/router that allows for the connection of multiple computers to a single DSL or Cable connection, and also protects those computers from certain types of outside intrusion.

Whether DSL or a Cable Modem is more appropriate for your organization depends upon the different types of service available in your area.  We can help you figure out which is available to you and which best suits your needs.

Included in your one-time fee is:

 One-Time Project Fee:                 $250

Note: Not included in this fee are any setup charges and monthly charges from the Cable Modem or DSL provider.  Also, if any network wiring, network cards hubs or switches, or computer upgrades are required, those will be at an additional fee.  We’ll let you know about all of the costs and options for your project before we start work.

Adelphia (Cable Modem)

Adelphia covers most of the State College and Bellefonte region.  They offer cable modem service for about $40 per month for residences and $70 per month for businesses.  If you don't have cable to the building already, there may be an additional charge for installation.

CEI Networks (Cable Modem)

CEI Networks is an alternative cable provider in the downtown State College area.  They offer cable modems to businesses and residences for about $40 per month, but have a limited coverage area.

GetWireless.net (Wireless)

GetWireless.net is a wireless ISP.  They offer high bandwidth connections with wireless technology.  Service is provided via a wireless antenna on the roof of your building. Prices start at about $100 per month.  They have a fairly wide coverage area in the State College/Bellefonte Region.

Verizon (DSL)

Verizon offers DSL service.  There is a varying rate structure with prices starting from $50 per month  Because of the DSL technology and how it works, there is a limited distance for service from Verizon's Central Office on Allen Street.  Service is limited to the downtown State College area.
